OOTD: Repurposing Accessories

I have had this serious obsession lately with thrifting these ridiculous white frilly blouses and I am *not* ashamed. I look and feel a bit like a victorian doll from the 1980s before adding the velvet party dress and pearls, or if it were a bit longer something Audrey Hepburn would have worn to bed in “Roman Holiday”. I don’t know what it is but I love them! You really can’t go wrong with a good white cotton blouse, anyway.

There’s just that wonderful timelessness and simplicity they possess… they’re the perfect foundation for you to build upon with your own style and accessories. I try to remain relatively minimal but a tie has been a part of almost every one of my outfits lately! I especially adore this outrageous black bow tie, which is ACTUALLY just a hair clip. Yep. You can easily do the same with any hair bows you may have laying around, too. Many of them have a simple alligator clip on the back so just slide the clip right below the top button of your blouse in between the two pieces of fabric and it should stay perfectly in place, adding a lovely touch of whimsy to your look.

If you’re looking into new ways of remixing your wardrobe then seriously, go try it! You’ll begin to reimagine a lot of the pieces you may already own that might not feel special enough as is. You might find yourself more drawn to those staple white blouses in the back of your closet… or even inspire you to pick up some ridonkulous frilly grandma tops, you never know! Or… maybe that’s just me. 🙂 ❤
